<br>One of the world's best windsurf beaches is in danger and we need your help to save it. The government of Aruba is considering granting permission to build a hotel at the famous FISHERMEN'S HUTS beach. This is one of those rare beaches that has provided incredible windsurfing conditions to thousands of windsurfers of all levels for the last twenty years. This exact beach is also responsible for introducing more people to the sport of windsurfing than any other beach on this side of the Atlantic.
<br>Building a hotel on this beach with off-shore wind conditions would completely disrupt the wind flow, making it impossible to access some of the most reliable winds anywhere.
<br>If you've ever been to this windsurfing paradise you will know what a terrible loss this would be for all windsurfers. Whether you've been to Aruba many times or have been dreaming of going one day, please don't hesitate to help us by entering in a bit of information below, deleting this intro paragraph upto the word 'Excellencies' and hitting reply or copying the following letter and sending it to [email protected] or send your own letter expressing your concern to the same address.

<br>I am deeply concerned by the plans for construction of a new hotel at the SECO DI ROGANS / FISHERMEN'S HUTS beach area in Aruba, and the relocation of the boulevard inland into the wetlands knows as 'salina'.
<br>This development will be a severe threat to the significant environmental value of this sensitive beach, coastal area and salina.
<br>Furthermore this area is a world famous windsurfing spot and the construction of a new hotel will put an end to that. Equally important;
<br>there are social-, recreational- and cultural aspects that will be negatively impacted by this development.
<br>The government of Aruba has stated on various occasions that it is committed to protecting the endangered Loggerhead sea turtle, as well as the
<br>island's coastal areas and certain plants.
<br>I would at this time like to inform you that I will not consider Aruba as a vacation destination, if the Government of Aruba allows this development to take place.
<br>I urge you not to allow any development on this precious piece of coastal area. The local population as well as the visitors to Aruba, will thank you for practicing sustainable development and not crossing the boundaries where balance between environment and development is no longer attainable.</span>

y a eu de sacrées manches de slalom là-bas du temps des Aruba Hi-Wind en PWA... et de beaux duels Dunkerberk/Bringdal avec de superbes racing plein gaz et des empoignades à la bouée. c là aussi que Albeau a commencé à inquiéter les pointures.
je me souviens aussi que la fameuse Tiga 270 est issue d'un proto spécialement conçu pour ces slaloms (vent fort, eau plate)...
bon je diverge (verge), longue vie à ce spot !

I‘d like to add that some French landscapes and places (like Palavas, La Grande Motte, La Baule and so many others…) has been totally damaged by such developments and no longer deserve the name of beach as they became cities on the sand. Let’s us give some room to the nature so that our sons can appreciate it’s beauty.

c'est là aussi que le proto de la future AHD 310 (shape exocet) a fait sa première sortie victorieuse avec patrice belbé et a lancé un nouveau concept de planches très larges qui sera à l'origine des formula actuelles ...
